Scot Young was appointed RWBC coach on February 1, 2009. Scot's background as a competitive player began with a silver medal in the Canadian College Nationals in 1994 and 1995. He was Alberta men’s doubles champ in 2000 and bronze medalist  that year in the Canadian Nationals.

Scot has 17 years coaching experience. He started at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club in 1993 and then became High Performance coach at Edmonton’s Royal Glenora Club in 2000, a position he held for nine years, before becoming coach at RWBC.

Private lessons with Scot Young are available by appointment, but only to RWBC members. There are several options, including a one-hour lesson for 2 to 4 participants at a shared cost of $50. Members who register for a series of 4 private lessons receive a 5th lesson free of charge, and this is by far the best way to learn, in the opinion of RWBC management, for players of novice to competitive level.
